Juliet Otieno

Role: Trial Manager, Kenya

Research and expertise:

Dr Juliet Otieno is a clinical epidemiologist with over 12 years of experience leading complex research projects in Kenya. Dr Otieno’s expertise spans clinical trials, implementation research, and stakeholder engagement at community, county, and national levels, making her well-equipped to bridge the gap between research evidence and practical implementation. Dr Otieno’s current role as Principal Clinical Research Scientist at KEMRI Centre for Global Health Research, where she serves as the Country Principal Investigator for PDMC implementation research, has given her direct experience with the intervention we seek to scale. she is actively involved in designing and developing implementation packages for PDMC delivery within the Kenyan health system context, working closely with the National Malaria Control Programme to support the adoption of PDMC into national guidelines. Dr Otieno’s postdoctoral work at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme (2022-2024) has honed her expertise in implementation research and health policy, particularly in strengthening the quality of clinical care at the primary healthcare level.
