Titus Kwambai is a senior public heath technical advisor with the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Kenya malaria program. He is a medical doctor with specialization in public health and Tropical medicine. He obtained PhD in Tropical Medicine from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Liverpool, UK. Before joining CDC, Titus worked with the Ministry of Health in western Kenya in various capacities and has over 10 years’ experience in managing public health and conducting clinical trials and research related to malaria epidemiology, malaria chemoprevention and post-discharge mortality burden surveillance.

Research and expertise:
Titus worked on the initial post-discharge malaria chemoprevention trial that led to WHO recommendation for PDMC. He is currently leading the pilot implementation of the RTS,S/ASO1 malaria vaccine in Kenya which lead to the WHO recommendation for wider use of RTS,S in October 2021. He is also the principal investigator for a novel phase II clinical trial for the L9LS antimalaria monoclonal antibody trials in western Kenya.
